Error during XML validation

Hi,
 
I'm getting the following error message on XML schema validation :
 
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class 
org.netbeans.modules.xml.xam.spi.Validation
 
my netbeans installation folder (C:\Program Files\NetBeans 6.0\ide8\modules) 
contains org-netbeans-modules-xml-xam.jar which includes the validation class. 
still I get this error. 
 
appreciate any help to solve this issue.
