I think an issue needs filed. I saw another post from someone, maybe you, about the HTML headers for the .xml.gz autoupdates are not in gzip format and NB not reading those values to figure it out and instead may be going by the extensions instead. One, the web site needs fixed if that isn't gzipped to be gzipped, and only the .xml files should be used if they will not be gzipped, bccing nbdiscuss, and two NB could be more resilient and check the HTTP headers for whether the incoming URL is gzipped, zipped, or not, and that seems to need to have an IZ issue file if you want.
