Re: NetBeans IDE 6.9.1 Available for Download

i downloaded 6.9.1, installed it before patches were avail for 6.9, then 2days later uninstalled 6.9;

so perhaps you are right.

6.9.1 does use the same user dir 6.9 rather than create a 6.9.1 directory;

my splash screen did update to 6.9.1

  Then one of the updates should be dependent on all the others and change the splash screen and version info to 6.9.1.  It's misleading to still show 6.9 if you "really" have 6.9.1

    No, actually you can update 6.9 to get all of the patches that you would get in 6.9.1. You should have been prompted to update already in 6.9, if not run Help -> Check for Updates.

    You can't do this between major releases (6.8 to 6.9) or with dev builds, but with dot-dot releases (6.9 to 6.9.1) you always can.

        Could someone please clarify, e.g. in announcements like this, whether those of us who updated all of our plug-ins on top of our 6.9 installation have any reason to install 6.9.1?  I'd hope/expect that all of the updates are available as plug-in updates rather than requiring a re-installation -- but all announcements to date have been singularly uninformative in this regard.
