NOTE: I moved this to the nbdiscuss list because it seems a more appropriate place. So what is the process for someone in the community (i.e. not employed by Oracle) to join that team so they can participate? The Web site documents how one can become a code committer, but not how someone can become a Web site committer (or its equivalent). For the record, I have about 15 years' experience with Web design. I have been an active member of the NetBeans community for more than five years and have written several popular articles about NetBeans, as well as giving presentations at JavaOne and Sun Tech Days. I've written or edited dozens entries in the NetBeans Developer FAQ (though since the Wiki software has been replaced twice, not all articles still carry my name). Anyway, my point is that I think I have demonstrated that have both the technical expertise and the ability to help maintain the netbeans.org Web site. So I'd appreciate if you could please explain specifically how (or any other capable member of the community) can get the ability to do that. > But in terms of the larger issue of making changes to the governance > model, I do agree that the governance model needs to be reviewed, and > this is as good a time as any to initiate conversations on this, before any > changes are made. I am glad you agree. Will that conversation take place in the open, on this list? If so, let's begin now. -- Tom Wheeler http://www.tomwheeler.com/
