While there may have been some, shall we say, missteps on Oracle's part,
I don't see how you can extend that to NetBeans. They've said they'd
keep developing it and they have, and as for direct communications with
the community, just ask anyone who participated in NetCAT for 7.0 -- it
was better than it ever has been, by far.
