It might be what you need. You will find many advantages and only one
drawback vs pure NetBeans: it is going eventually be a bit outdated as
Studio release pace is nothing to compare with NetBeans rapid fire.
However if there are any public Betas it might help to catch up. And of
course you can always update the IDE through the update center, but it
is not guarantied that Studio specific features will remain functional.

Not worth trying. I do believe that dbx is better as well as dbxtool is
superior to ddd &Co.

I believe with Desktop Distro you can achieve this.
