Job Description

We are looking for a well-grounded java desktop developer to act as the lea=
d UI developer as we port our existing windows based application (PICS - Th=
e Produce Inventory Control System) to the NetBeans Platform.  PICS is used=
 by numerous produce packers, shippers and wholesalers to run their busines=
s. The current application has approximately 200-300 screens that will be r=
ewritten in Java. =20

Our existing development team is porting all the existing business logic to=
 Java so we expect you to lead our efforts in building the jPICS (Java PICS=
) UI top of the NetBeans platform. Because this is a new project you will h=
ave a blank slate upon which to build the application.  We expect you to:
*        Learn what our current application does=20
*        Design a modular architecture of the UI code
*        Build reusable set of widgets to preserve critical user interface =
interactions that our customers are familiar with=20
*        Implement the UI on top of the business logic modules put together=
 by our current development team=20

Skills & Experience

Required:
*        Deep caring for your craft and the willingness to constantly impro=
ve it
*        Solid Java development skills
*        Java desktop programming experience with SWING or NetBeans Platfor=
m or Eclipse RCP

Desirable:
*        JPA / Hibernate
*        Expertise in FoxPro, Visual FoxPro and/or xBase programming
