Hello all, We're recently discussing how to get "cool features" write ups for Sprout. Just browsing through a few days worth of posts to nbusers, I found a couple of great sounding tips from Jiri (cc'ed). Create a custom right-click menu + command : http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/ReadMsg?msgId=621104&listName=nbusers Set up a CVS server on Win for team development - not specifically for/about NB, but the instructions are very nice step by step, relevant to any developer, and this is something a lot of ppl are interested in. Also, how to set up a CVS server for a single user, just to keep your own source version controlled : http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/ReadMsg?msgId=492889&listName=nbusers All 3 of these are great tips, and I have a feeling would be of interest if ppl could find them ... do others agree ? Maybe experienced NB users know these things ... but the fact that ppl are asking about it on nbusers means not everyone knows. If yes, some ideas : 1) Can we ask someone (docs, marketing, webteam) to take the content from Jiri's mails, and format it/turn it into a little HTML guide ? Either as a "stand alone" web page, or only as a cool tip for a Sprout ? 2) How can we make sure we catch more of these things as they go by on the lists ? Encourage developers to submit them to nbmarketing/webteam ? Have someone comb the lists watching for such stuff (not such a good option IMO) ? ... ? 3) Is this even a good idea ? :-) -- Jack Catchpoole NetBeans/Sun Microsystems http://www.netbeans.org/
