This is an excellent idea!  I already have the translated
texts in a seperate resource file (PHP), moving it to the
XML and reading from there should not be too much more
work ... I've filed it :

Unfortunately I will not have time to look at this for a
few weeks :-/  I hope before next issue but I'm not sure.

Hmm, this certainly has advantages, but also some disadvantages.
Eg yesterday's edition had 2 (I think) last minute image
additions.  Rob added the Steve Wilson photo and one other
just yesterday ... with the current setup that was done
using the internal PHP tools, and all translated versions
got the images.  But if the image info was in the XML, we
would have had to edit the each translated XML file for the
images to appear there ...

:-(  I am sorry about that, I didn't notice them when testing.
I will have to investigage.
