I just wanted to tell you how Great NetBeans is, and share my story with you.
A potential employer asked me to solve a challenging coding problem, as the final stage in the interviewing process. My home computer was out of commission due to a failing Hard drive, so I couldn't turn to my normal development environment. I figured I didn't have time to mess with an IDE, and would just use a text editor. I borrowed a laptop from a friend, installed the j2sdk (which had NetBeans 3.6 bundled), and began attacking the coding problem. I was moving along ata good pace when I neede to generate some getters/setters, and I just didn't want to take the time to hand code it, so I thought I would give NetBeans a try (but I was afraid I might waste 2 hrs just trying to learn the IDE, and get no programming done).

I found everything I was looking for in no time at all. I have used several IDEs in my career, most of which have a very steep learning curve, and none that allowed me to be productive as quickly as this. I used the templates, code complete, search/replace, getters/setters generator, junit test creator, debugger, code folds (very helpful when trying to line code up nicely) and javadoc tool effortlessly. I had the problem solved in 2hrs, and I was amazed at how great the code looked!!

Thanks to the NetBeans teams for creating a fast, easy to use, andr comprehensive IDE!!

If I get the Job, I owe it to you!
