Sorry for the slow response Vincent.  In fact we weren't entirely
sure about the project and had to dig around to find out details.
It seems that project was created by someone no longer at Sun, as
a placeholder.  It was planned to host NB sub-projects using licences
other than SPL there, or that wanted to take advantage of java.net
functionality not available on nb.org.

BTW Vincent you are an "owner" of that project.

AFAIK it was never promoted as those plans never took off.

Now that nb.org has been upgraded to the same version of SourceCast
as java.net is using, there's no extra functionality on java.net
(though we're not yet using some of hte new features on nb.org, we
certainly plan to do so).  I'm not sure if it makes sense to keep
https://netbeans.dev.java.net/ alive ...
