Tips and new info about promoting the Netbeans platform

Hy,

As member of a new team with a product to create I would like to
suggest the Netbeans platform as basis.

I've created a Netbeans module (not very deeply integrated with
Netbeans) in the 3.6 days at work but I'm no platform-expert.

The problem is that the prior project is almost 100% in-house
(including module-like structure, etc) _and_ as far as I remember the
Open IDE api did take me a while to get me used to. Oh, and almost
everybody uses only Eclipse.

I'm the only one that worked on that Netbeans module but sadly the
project died for various reasons.

My question is: how do you think I could convince people to use the
Netbeans platform ? I remember it was a cool platform to use (althogh
the API seemd huge).

Probably the most important issues are: support (this is ok, plenty of
mailing lists here) and teaching/tutorial/book resources.

As far as I know, the only book about netbeans modules/platform was
3.5 related. I don't think it's usefull for the latest platform (there
were changes even in 3.6 that made the 3.5 book look weird). Any new
books ?
