Netbeans partner program - answers to questions etc.

Hello,

we are a small Czech software company and we use NetBeans to develop our
security software. We would like to be listed at netbeans.org. What should
we do for that? Should we send some short description?

Our main selling product is Java 2 MicroEdition software for encryption of
SMS  messages, SMS 007. See

As for questions published on your site, here are some of the answers:

# Was NetBeans your only choice or was there any other Java software you
had to choose from?

A: Back in 2003, when the development started, it was the only choice.
Later, we also experimented with Eclipse, but NetBeans seems to be better,
at least for mobile software development.

# Why did you choose NetBeans?

A: Availability + freedom.

# What do you hope to get from using NetBeans?

A: Professional IDE which will help us develop code without too much
thinking about technical details like forking the code for various devices
(Abilities and Configurations are great!).

# Was/is NetBeans meeting your expectations?

A: Generally, yes. Especially since 5.0, when preprocessor directives can
be nested.

# What do you think are the strongest attributes of NetBeans?

A: Integration of various utilities, like ProGuard, in the Mobility Pack,
and the "Abilities, Configurations".

# Where do you think the IDE needs the most improvement?

A:Internal support of Subversion (SVN). NetBeans supports CVS quite
extensively, but CVS is much older technology, kept at life mainly thanks
to sourceforge.net; I think many developers prefer subversion instead. We
definitely do :-)

# How long have you been using NetBeans? Were you using NetBeans before it
acquired by Sun?

A: For three years.
