There could be a problem, Netbeans (read Sun) has the policy not to 
include any GPL dependant code on the Netbeans.org site (in my 
understanding at least), so the project of adding ssh support has to be 
split in 2 parts.
1. extending the javacvs module to allow different connection types.
2. create an off-site project (at sourceforge or elsewhere) and create 
the ssh connection type there..
(this will be GPL licenced)

I think it's worth the efford, I'm willing to help as well however I'm 
about to leave Sun in late July and I'm not sure how much time I would 
be able to dedicate to the project in my new job. Since it's about 
moving from Prague to Malaysia, I won't have definitely much time for 
the coming 2-3 month.. In that time I can only give advice I suppose. 
After things settle down, I could dedicate some more time to it. So 
don't expect me to be more than an involved observer for the time being. 
(Yeah, I know, not encouraging paragraph, but at least fair)
