It is definitly not hard to write such a parser.

But there is another question about the format. You say that this is not "conform to the standard (!!!) CVSROOT".
Do you know this for sure (Is there a definition of that standard)? I didn't find anything about this. I ask because if this is conform wiht the cvs server, it could probably become more common in the future. And in that case javacvs (and NetBeans) will be not conform...

You may just need to write your own parser and then pass it into 
CVSRoot.  It doensn't look to hard.  They are just key-value pairs for 
most of them.  just take what is in username and host and change the 
format to conform with what the rest of the world uses as CVSROOT.  :)  
In any case, I see no reason why javacvs would support that format of 
CVSROOT as it doesn't conform to the standard CVSROOT that cvs uses.
