greetings - btree internals

Hello everyone.  This is my first post.

I had been looking for this project/group/list for some time.  I'm 
particularly interested in using and working on the btree 
implementation.  It has a lot of potential for the other projects I'm 
working on, outside of the MDR framework.

I am interested in getting more familiar with the internals of the btree 
implementation to persist objects on disk and in memory.

Can anyone point me to a reference that gets into the details?

I'm also interested in learning how the btree implementation is used by 
the Java Data Objects reference implementation.
