This may sound a little bit stupid, but what does the
mdr/external/jmi.jar do and where is the implementation of jmi in mdr?

We would like to do ebuilds for jmi in Gentoo, but in Gentoo land it is
preferred to compile everything from source and the jmi.jar seems to be
binary only. I don't have much knowledge of jmi, but you can find the
Gentoo java developers in #gentoo-java @ freenode for further disgussion.
