Hi, We are very interested in porting some Java Web Start deployed simple Swing apps to the NetBeans Platform but we want it to look as close to how they do before being ported as possible, which means removing the space consuming weird tabs. We tried following the tutorial found on Geertjan's blog titled "Farewell to Space Consuming Weird Tabs"[0] and in the "Removing Tabs" section of the "NetBeans Platform Tutorial for Geospatial Systems"[1]. The first run of the software, when no testuserdir folder exists in the build folder it works great. Subsequent runs with the folder existing shows the tab again. Deleting the folder makes the tab disappear for the next run. I've checked and double-checked our implementation of NoTabsTabDisplayerUI and it's call from the Installer class. It looks like identical code. (It's not easy to copy / paste due to the annoying reformatting and "See more at" text added to my copy) I've even gone and built the MyGeospatialSystem NetBeans Platform Application following Scenario 1: Open Map, skipping Scenario 2: Geotoolkit, with the Full Screen Mode option and trying to remove tabs. It works exactly the same as our test port. The first run has no space consuming weird tabs, the second and subsequent runs do. What am I doing wrong? How do I keep the tabs from returning? 0) https://blogs.oracle.com/geertjan/entry/farewell_to_space_consuming_weird 1) https://platform.netbeans.org/tutorials/nbm-geospatial.html#tabs PS. It would be nice if the wiki tutorial mentioned needing to force a build at the end of Step 5 of Scenario 1 to get Bundle to auto-generate and get rid of the IDE reference error.
