Status of Netbeans Platform?

I can confirm that activating "Sliding Window Groups" does fix the problem in my test application. Will test later with the full app, but there is no reason for me to believe that the behavior will be different.

First off, many thanks for finding the cause of this strange behavior!

I haven't looked at that dialog for a long time, because I simply enabled all features of the Docking Framework and then forgot about it. It seems that with new versions of the Netbeans Platform, additional options appeared and they were turned off per default.

Of course I have searched the bug database high and low, but the term "sliding" in my mind referred to the window sliding into the sidebar. Apparently it really means or also means "changing the width".

I'll update the bug report shortly.
