This has little to do with the Platform and more with the way you will be
replicating the data.

I assume you will need to centralize data at some point so the more MySQL
instances you have to more you have to replicate between them.

If done properly, the Platform app should be oblivious of this data
replication going on behind the scenes.

I would not use a public IP for direct MySQL connections but hide the
database behind some REST services.

Also, I assume you have checked the licensing costs for redistributing
MySQL with your app.

I see you have also been mentioned in the NetBeans newsletter: are you guys
interested in hiring some (remote) contractors for this or are you just
looking for on-site employees?
