One theory is an infinite loop or long-running operation on the Event Dispatch Thread--usually in the client code. That would prevent repaints from happening correctly (and the visual result of that might look different on different systems). When the bug occurs, does the application also freeze, or is it still responsive?

Subject: [platform-dev] Fwd: Netbeans platform rendering error on win10?

Hi,

In our product (based on NetBeans IDE 8.0.2 (Build 201411181905)), we've had some users, but far from everyone, that experiences a graphical error such as in the included picture. When the problem has started, it renders multiple graphical artifacts that looks like hovering versions of the original TopComponent.

It seem to occur when the user interacts with an instance of an implementation of an AbstractCompletionEditor (types text in a textfield that provides code completion) and I can't seem to find a pattern. Other than that it has only been reported on Windows 10. And we have windows 10 computers of our own that does not have this problem... It reminds me a lot of the good old days in windows! :)

I'm just curious if you have heard or seen anything like this?

Thanks!
/Henry
