I'd agree with Peter that this isn't something directly related to the L&F, but possibly something in your window configuration is causing issues that manifest differently with the two. I always use Nimbus with NetBeans itself, and Praxis LIVE v2 used a dark version of Nimbus (now switched to a fork of Darcula), and not seen this issue in either of them.
