Re: debugging w/o projects [was: File menu gone ?]

Here's a slightly related thing.
Can you debug something that is not under a project?

We often think of debugging as an activity that one does on their own code
on their own machine. In such situations we desire a reproducible testacase
and just run everything under the ide.

But there are situations when you're trying to debug someone else's
code which was not even developed using NB and you feel most 
comfortable with NB as a debugger front end.

You might be debugging this other code because you delivered a component
to them, a jar file, that you build using NB but are forced to debug
it in the context of whomever you delivered to component to.

Or ... if some day in the future you end up with stepping through an
RMI call into a server on remote host will the code for that server
have to be part of some "project" for things to work?


This is related to the File issue in the sense that editing files
isn't the only thing that one might want to do outside of the world of
projects. Maybe one conclusion from this might be that debuggercore
should be able to  be configured so it worls if there are no projects?
