I do remember. It was my recommendation to do it for the usability study. Properties in the property sheet didn't match with specification and in some cases also the specification wasn't completely precise in defining which properties should be shown for a particular node. To avoid the confusion of participants I suggested hiding the property sheet. Another argument is that in the future we should start editing objects in the editor, not in this small space bellow the explorer. Then, we don't have to show the property sheet by default, what simplifies the initial user experience. As we've seen in the usability study, neither of users used property sheet (after invocation from contextual menu) successfully.
