Typical due diligence. Why is this implementation best? Do
you know other implementations? Does it Implement any standard?
Is it sustainable? How many days would it take to reimplement
it? How many days would it take to remove it from product?
....

Once prepared send request to discuss mailing list and ask for LFI#.
A layer must check licenses and provide the LFI#.
