So it will work with the 3.5/4.0 branch but not the 3.4 branch? Weird. Ok, I'll try that. So I don't need a release tag if I use the 3.5 branch? About my emails, I'm subscribed with [email protected], but my email keep coming across differently for some reason. I need to yell at my hosting company. :) Thanks for your help! If you want to use NB 3.4, you have to check out the release34 branch; cvs co -rrelease34 tasklist But it's probably better to work with the trunk (NetBeans 3.5/4.0). I use it, and it seems pretty stable. > just wanted to try to get involved. So I'm a bit new to all this. Do you have > instructions on how to build and install this? Also, do I only need to build > and install the bugs module? Let me know. Building NetBeans isn't hard, but you have to know what to do. Go to nbbuild.netbeans.org which tells you what to do. Especially http://nbbuild.netbeans.org/ant Essentially, it's as simple as this (on Unix; if you're on Windows I can't help you but I bet the nbbuild instructions can): mkdir mynetbeans; cd mynetbeans cvs co standard netbeans (standard checks out a bunch of nb mods) cd nbbuild ant -Dbuild.compiler.debug=true There is a way to run ant such that the tasklist build is done as part of the full build; I don't remember how (because I've got things set up with symlinks etc.) but the easiest way is probably to just add the tasklist modules in build.properties to the standard configuration (same file). Otherwise, explicitly run ant from the top of the tasklist directory, and copy/symlink the contents of */netbeans/* to ../nbbuild/netbeans/. Hope that helps. If you have problems building the IDE, feel free to ask on nbdev (where the buildmasters etc. hang out and can help you - I'm really an ant-cut&paste kind of user, not a power user.) -- Tor --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] For additional commands, e-mail: [email protected]
