Hello Petra,

nice idea and great job, but I have to admit, that now the work with
CTI is more worse then before.

For an initial translation this new approach with kits seems to be
somewhat feasible, but in case we're going to bug fixing phases
(removing incosistent translations, typos, etc.) we have a problem!

As everybody know, there's no chance to search for particular strings
inside CTI, even if it is one of the most important features while
translating. Before the re-structuring we were able to use a trick to
find a string (or better the file containing that string).

Therefore we had to set NB to a debug mode which prints out the file
(including the directory) containing the string. With this file name
we were able to jump more or less directly to the correct module.

For example the string "New project" in menu "File" gives following
output: "org/netbeans/modules/project/ui/actions/Bundle.properties".
So here, we have the file and now we were able to search for that
string in the affected module on CTI, open the according file and step
through it to find the error. That's not possible any more, because
there are no files to see any more, but only those kits. And opening
kit, displays ALL strings. So it's quite hard to search for
mis-spelled strings, typos, inconsitencies and so on.

It's a matter of time. Most of us are just volunteers and we spend one
or two hours a day (some more, some less) for translating. There's no
time at all, to crawl through the e.g. 467!!! pages of ide.kit just to
fix a typo.

I think, I'll switch back to OmegaT for the next version, even if I
don't like all that integration stuff with HG, but with OT I'll be
much faster, unless CTI-team will increase the feature list
dramatical.

Best regards
J..e
