You are right. But this API is not stable, it changed in past and XML modules use an older version. You need to use Xerces that is referenced from build script. Of course you are welcome to port it. It's basically tax.io.XNIBuilder innerclass that uses it. There are some tricks with isolating the code to be at runtime independent on order of Xerces jars at classpath. If you decides to do so wait a minute with it. I'm working on small XNIBuilder refactoring, improving its performance. Cc.
