Epiphany puts the X on the tabs too. I've grown used to it both there and in NetBeans. Speaking of tab width, I found the editor window tabs to be tolerable but other "window" tabs are spread out too much. The worst is the "south" area. I'm still a bit flustered by having the Output Window + Search Results tabs spread out over my whole screen (each tab takes up half the width of the IDE).
