RE: can we have 'stacked tabs' in 3.6?

I too think the usability is a bit awkward when you have lots of files open,
but in other ways it is such an improvement over having so many rows of tabs
that are different sizes.

I really like the way UltraEdit provides an "Open Files" window, which is
really just a simple Explorer tree.  It makes short work of switching to a
particular open file and it's also great because you can Ctrl click on
multiple files, then right click and close them.  I would rather have
something like this added to the current environment than to have stacked
tabs.

I have to completely agree with you Tom.  Netbeans 3.6 is an improvement 
over the last, but I find the new tab system much harder to use than the 
3.5 system.  Since I often have 15 or so files open at the same time, 
some of which have the extra form editor tab, I'm spending much of my 
time clicking on that little arrow to slide the tabs left and right.  
The drop down selection list doesn't help much, since it sorts all the 
windows alphabetically, which is different from the order I opened them 
in, and not very helpful for navigation.

If the Netbeans folks were to add this feature back in, I would be quite 
happy. 

(And I like the new ability to rearrange the tabs by clicking and 
dragging them.  Maximizing the editor by double clicking on the tab is 
also a very nice touch).
