Thanks Jiri & Jesse,
I hate to say this, but: i can't reproduce this now :-(  I just came back from
my honeymoon and when I restarted the IDE I no longer see this behaviour!
Either it was a corruption that happens after you run the IDE for awhile - or
I was just imagining things.  Hoping it wasn't the latter, I shall file a
bug report when it happens again.

Sorry to have taken up bandwidth with this phantom bug.
