Is this similar to the LRU list of editor tabs you currently get by 
pressing Ctrl-Tab?

There is already Alt-Shift-O for Java classes, which as I understand it 
will become rather more powerful in promo-H. There is also an nbextras 
module for quick opening of other files but I haven't tried it yet; I 
hope such a system will be in the standard IDE sometime soon. (This can 
suffer from less-distinctive naming schemes for some sorts of non-*.java 
files.)
