If you look here http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=nbusers&msgNo=87782 http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=nbusers&msgNo=87782 you can find the answer to your question. The answer is NO. I'm very irritating because i find Visual Inheritance is a key feature (still present in very old IDEs like Delphi or new ones like Visual Studio). We have many application frameworks available today, without Visual inheritance i cannot use my form editor. They are saying we can use composition instead inheritance. This remember me the VB6 times : in VB6 there was not inheritance but M$ says: "inheritance is bad, you can use composition instead!!". So 10 year later i must hear the same from Netbeans team...Oh God...
