Please read the descriptions of the forums in Nabble before posting. nbui is not a general support list. inheritance is supposed to work. If you are having issues please file a bug so others can gain from your pain. See:
http://www.netbeans.org/community/issues

and 'form' is the component you will choose for which to file your bug against. The subcomponent will be 'code'.
