Hello, I'm cc'ing Koen; On Thu, 2003-11-06 at 21:55, Manfred Riem wrote: > I am certainly willing to work on some translation > for the website, but as always free time is short, > but if someone else would be leading the website > translation effort I'll help out anyway I can. Well there's no Dutch lead just yet, but there are 2 of you who've expressed interest to help, which is great (more than most of the other languages in fact! :-). I'm hoping with just a few localised pages on the site we will immediately start to grow each local community, and more ppl will be interested in helping. So even a single page translation or 2 will help. With 2 of you helping of course you should be careful to avoid duplicated effort, so if you agree I'd suggest each trying a page or 2 from the "essential docs" list. Please stay in touch to make sure you are co-ordinated, I'd suggest subscribing to [email protected] and posting notes about your work or plans there. It's entirely up to you how and who does what ... if nobody has started yet, how about : Koen : Welcome template Product Into Manfred : Mailing Lists Contributing Into ? Just a suggestion, however you want to do it is fine of course. Perhaps it would be better if you would each volunteer what you want to do ... (If either of you have already started, quick, let the other know, to save them doing your work again! :-) These files, and some tips on how best to work on them, are at : http://www.netbeans.org/community/contribute/localise.html As to translating the IDE, that is of course a whole other (large) task. I'm not so involved with that and have no experience, but if you are interested it would be great to see a dutch version of NetBeans on the download page. More hands make lighter work, so if you know of other dutch speaking NetBeans users or can spread the word that you're looking for help perhaps you could find a small team willing to help ? Anyway, welcome to you both, and thanks again for your support. Best Regards, -- Jack Catchpoole NetBeans/Sun Microsystems http://www.netbeans.org/
