Thanks for your reply, and for reminding me of the List Etiqette page. I agree that while annoying, the behavior is not truly offensive. Next time I notice a post, I will send a gentle reminder.

While I understand that it is a nuisance I do not think it warrants to chop
off the user. This
user needs to be politely reminded about the List Etiquette mentioned on 
http://www.netbeans.org/community/lists/.

Unfortunately those etiquettes do not mention any thing about behavior like
this, but at
least rule #1 applies. And he should be reminded about that.
