Ok, current status summary:

with default setting (carol.jvm.rmi.local.registry=true) this strange
class-cast error occurs.

- switching

results in errors that the EJB homes cannot be registered at deployment
time (this is what you wanted to have from me, Guillaume!):

--> then I tried to enable the security manager as Florent suggested:

this once again results in Errors at deployment time: "cannot register
