Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: CACHE-52
Summary: CacheFilter jsp requires manual.flush()
Type: Bug
Status: Assigned
Priority: Major
Project: OSCache
Components:
Filters
Versions:
2.0 beta 2
Assignee: Chris Miller
Reporter: David Rees
Created: Thu, 7 Aug 2003 12:53 PM
Updated: Thu, 7 Aug 2003 12:53 PM
Environment: Tomcat 4.1.24/4.1.27 on Linux, JDK 1.4.2
Description:
I setup OSCache to filter some JSPs, but I was getting blank pages instead of the desired content. After banging my head on the wall a bit, I added <% out.flush(); %> to the end of my JSP which fixed the issue.
I will attach the relevant configuration files.
I'm not convinced that this is a CacheFilter bug, but I think the place to look would be at the cacheResponse.flushBuffer() call in CacheFilter.java.
It seems to act like the JspWriter has another buffer layered over the OutputStream OSCache has access to...
