Hi Smith,
Your effort is highly appreciated. Just one more thing to consider. If the changes are incorporated into the latest build-war file or on cvs, that would be highly commendable.
I am at present integrating ww2 with weblogic6.1, sp4. What is your thought on this. Whether I should go for 7.0, which supports servlet2.3 fully well.
Regards

Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: WW-300
Summary: Make WebWork function under Weblogic Server 6.1
Type: Bug
Status: Assigned
Priority: Major
Project: WebWork
Components:
Configuration
Fix Fors:
2.0-beta2
Versions:
2.0-beta2
Assignee: Jason Carreira
Reporter: Scott N. Smith
Created: Tue, 9 Sep 2003 1:02 AM
Updated: Tue, 9 Sep 2003 7:53 AM
Environment: Weblogic Server 6.1 SP4 under Windows XP Profession or Solaris
Description:
WebWork is written to run under Servlet Specification 2.3. Weblogic Server 6.1 SP4 is "almost" Servlet 2.3; alas they are incompatible.
This issue covers simple modifications to WebWork 2.0-beta to provide hooks so that subclasses can be written to "plug the gap". These simple modifications do not change the functionality of the changed files; they just expose information.
Here's a summary of the changes:
1. FilterConfig.java: added simple getter for filterConfig instance variable; this is required by subclass for Weblogic 6.1 servlet implementation for servlet filters.
2. RequestLifecycleFilter.java and SessionLifecycleListener.java: exposes how servlet context is retrieved by implementing just this functionality in a method. Each subclass can retrieve the servlet context from other resources available to Weblogic 6.1.
