Handle Errors in JDBCWorkflowStore

I am using JDBCWorkflowStore as my datastore and have
noticed that the current code catches all
SQLExceptions and simply logs the error.

Is there a recommended way to handle this sort of
occurance?  I fear the user may be causing an error
repeatedly without their knowledge.  How should we
notify the user viewing the jsp that an error has
occurred?
