OSWorkflow - due date question

The 2.5.0 version added a "due date" to the step implementation.

Question: I dont see any actual processing code where this date is checked to see 
if it is overdue, or any code that does anything with it other than set/get it.. Is 
there is document/page somewhere that explains what is planned for this attribute?

Also, the SimpleStep.java constructor takes "dueDate" as a parameter but doesn't 
set the member variable anywhere in the constructor, fyi..
