Well you could write your own propertyset impl, which doesn't 
indiscriminately save (I think Mike added a CachePropertySet at some 
point for this), and another option for handling the split of 
properties across beans/propertyset is to use an AggregatePropertySet, 
which combines a bean propertyset + an hibernate/ejb/whatever 
propertyset.
