OK, here's the deal: * The latest, KNOWN WORKING code is still the osuser module (no sandbox). This is probably the "most current" * Mike started his own OSUser2 drive, wrote code, checked it in, and then SF CVS crashed and that's the last I've heard. Mike? * David Smiley is the owner the the sandbox/osuser stuff -- it's a rewrite and the interfaces are there but no implementations are in place. It's been dormant for a while, but David has started to pick it up again and he recently checked some stuff in (I don't know what). * Paul Hammant did a spike on the current stuff and refactored it -- no rewrite. He emailed us the code but we haven't done anything yet with it and there are still ongoing discussions. OK, with that said, I have no idea what to do. I want to migrate _one_ of the above to java.net and let the rest die. Any ideas which? I'm leaning towards Paul's code because it's a refactor of code i KNOW works, but incorporate some of the ideas that David also addressed and allows for better testability. I'm hoping that if we did that Mike, David, Paul, and many others would be able to work together on a single source tree. -Pat ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris Miller" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, August 01, 2003 1:14 PM Subject: [Opensymphony-developers] Re: What's OSuser status? > I'm really confused about osuser now too - we're looking at using it on a > new project but I have no idea what codebase we should be grabbing. > > The code that's currently in sourceforge appears to be the latest that's > available, however I've seen a few posts that say the sandbox is more > current.
