I'm agreed. I've done some tweaks to the existing source recently (to the
Hibernate providers) but I believe I checked them into SF as I knew nothing
about how to operate java.net and didn't have an account there at the time.

As for OSUser 2, I believe we need to set some broad goals and then move to
them slowly. A total rewrite is a bad idea IMHO, I like the idea of a
gradual refactoring. Broken APIs are OK if they need to be broken, but I
think we should try to maintain as much backward compatibility as possible?

The main things OSUser can't do right now that I want it to are:
- interface/impl separation - currently everything is in final concrete
classes which makes unit testing very hard
- querying - I want to find all users with email address matching @foo.com,
all users with a certain property etc. This is VERY inefficient at the
moment. Also, as this is most often used to make some sort of user browser,
I wonder if it's efficient to make this paged? (ie get users 1-20 in group
Y)

Those are really the main two things I'm looking for - I'm not sure about
others.
