Assuming one knows the exact names & locations of all generated files and
those don't change when the version of xdoclet changes etc (which means both
.cvsignore & the build.xml have to be updated to prevent any unwanted side
effects)

Seems to me it is just simpler to generate into a 'generated java source'
folder & include that in what gets handed to javac. The generates java src
folder can then be cvsignored & everybody is happy yes?
