I agree. A null would be preferable than having to catch and throw away
an exception.

I'm not suggesting that I somehow expect OSCache to somehow magically
refresh the data, thats retarded. What I'm saying is having a request
for a stale cache item throw an exception is an ugly implementation.
Exceptions are for exceptional cases not to control flow. Clearly the
occurence of a stale cache entry is in no way 'exceptional'
