Configuring cache for use with Hibernate: refresh.period?

Hi,

I'm not sure I understand the documentation about Configuration (bottom 
of page
http://www.opensymphony.com/oscache/hibernate.html).  This is providing 
a cache for Hibernate, right?  I use the OS cache tags, and am familiar 
with settings for expiring the cache entry for part of a JSP.  The 
Configuration at the bottom of the page is to provide per-class cache 
control for Hibernated data, right?

I'm using a custom JSP tag to reference Hibernated data.  I use a cache 
tag around my tag.  So, the results of the JSP is already cached with 
an expiration specification in the cache tag.  While the cache data is 
valid, the Hibernated data is not referenced.

Should I worry about settings in Configuration?  What are the default 
values?  Seems like I could get in trouble, for example, by setting a 
longer cache lifetime for the class that I use in my tag compared to 
the lifetime that I set in the cache tag itself.  The page designer 
would be expecting to control the cache through the cache tag, but I 
might be conflicting with that in my configuration of the caching for 
Hibernate.

I understand that Hibernate caching is used for stuff other than JSPs.

I just want to make sure I'm understanding what the Configuration is 
for.
