A shell/explorer for the WW/SAF valueStack

Hey guys,

I've been thinking about some sort of shell or explorer for ww/saf, and after I heard some other guys talking about it, I thought, what the heck, let's post about it (being the impulsive type of guy), but it's rather un-orthodox. So, here goes:

Several approaches would be possible, but what I'm thinking about mostly is some sort of tag that opens a socket on a predefined port and listens on it, and allows a telnet like connection to be set up. The tag then fires a popup (be it flash or applet) which can query the valueStack at a certain point in time (most likely in the view layer, but it should be possible to do the same thing in your action, should it be necessary), allowing you to fire queries like 'top', 'class.methods[0]', and so on (including a nifty treeview of the valueStack). Of course, the whole thing should not work unless some variable is set, and kill off a connection in x seconds if no connection is made.

You could even add tags to take snapshots of the valueStack and explore those.

What do you think ? Would it be useful ?
