I have added in a little about the cause of my problem to the wiki entry. I dont really see a problem with it being in the default stack. Once you turn off devMode it has no effect anymore. Taking it out would possibly reduce peoples knowledge of its existence. On the other hand though there are these odd side effects shown in this thread that can be hard to diagnose, and the very tiny performance overhead of having it in and never being used.
