Last year someone on this list suggested that I subclass the OpenAMF gateway and add authentication and authorization code there. That's what I did and am very pleased with the result. Maybe that in an option for you. The client AS code adds authentication parameters to the request and my server-side code interrogates it. I could post code snippets if you are interested. This list is a bit quiet, but OpenAMF is not dead. My company tinkered with Red5 last year, but it was too immature then. We are very please with how OpenAMF has worked well for us and consider it simple and stable...just what we wanted.
